Those looking for a refreshing spring getaway might consider the following villages in Taizhou in East China's Zhejiang province. 

Taotou village 

Taotou village in Hairun sub-district of Sanmen county is home to the She people. Visitors to the village can not only enjoy the captivating seaside landscapes, but also the unique dwellings of the locals. With the arrival of spring, wide stretches of rapeseed flowers come into full bloom. 

The walls of the houses are painted with slogans and cartoons, which always pique the interest of passersby. 

The village has been listed as a national demonstration village for characteristic agriculture.

Fengyang village

Fengyang village, located in Damaiyu sub-district, Yuhuan county, is actually composed of three small villages - Fengshan village, Chaoyang village, and Hengkeng village. 

It was recently included in a provincial program for the protection and utilization of historical and cultural villages.

Situated near the East China Sea, the village has an altitude of more than 220 meters. 

Near its west entrance is the Shifeng Mountain volcano site, which formed five million years ago and is the most complete volcanic site in East China. Near the site is a volcanic tea garden where visitors can try some spring tea, which just recently became available on the market.

The village also has 56 well-preserved stone houses surrounded by numerous century-old trees. 

Gaoqian village 

Gaoqian village, situated in Baita town, Xianju county, has a history of over 100 years. It is the former home of the famous Wu family.

It has also been included in the provincial program for the protection and utilization of historical and cultural villages.

It has 13 ancient houses that were built by imitating the Hall of Supreme Harmony from the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911). Elements such as small bridges, bodies of water, ancient walls, and alleys give visitors a feeling of peace and serenity.

Hou'an village 

Surrounded by mountains on three sides, Hou'an village is situated in Toujie town, Tiantai county.

In spring, visitors can immerse themselves in the miles and miles of peach blossoms.

Panjiayang village 

Rapeseed flowers grown in terraced fields are definitely something visitors shouldn't miss. The scene looks like something out of an enormous oil painting when looked at from above.
