A high-end sewing equipment manufacturing base funded by Jack Sewing Machine Co Ltd was put into use in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province on Jan 20, according to local media reports.

The plant comes as part of the company's efforts to transform into an intelligent manufacturing solutions provider.

With an investment of 5.635 billion yuan ($841 million), the factory, composed of two phases, is set to cover an area of 1,015 mu (67.6 hectares) in total.

It took less than 14 months to receive administrative approval for and complete construction on the project thanks to the support of local authorities. 

Rui Hong, secretary of the Party working Committee of Taizhou Bay Accumulative Zone, pointed out that the plant's establishment will bolster the development of advanced manufacturing in the area and pledged that the government will further optimize services and business climate for local enterprises. 

Ruan Fude, president of Jack Sewing Machine Co Ltd, said that the company will push ahead with the construction of the plant's second phase and help Taizhou develop into a world-class manufacturing hub for sewing machines. 

Li Yueqi, Party sectary of the CPC Taizhou Municipal Committee, and Wu Haiping, acting mayor of Taizhou, also attended the inauguration ceremony.

Founded in Taizhou in 1995, Jack Sewing Machine Co is a domestic leading sewing machine supplier. The company occupies an area of over 270,000 square meters and employs 3,000 employees
