The 2019 China Plastics Fair concluded in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province on Oct 14.

The four-day event saw the signing of intended transactions worth a total of 3.6 billion yuan ($537.3 million).

More than 550 companies, including more than 240 from Taizhou, attended the fair, which has a total of 1,600 booths with 35,000 square meters.

Taizhou is a national manufacturing hub for plastics. In 2018, the number of companies in the city specializing in plastics and molds surpassed 12,000, employing over 300,000 people.

Daily plastic products manufactured in Taizhou account for about 70 percent of the domestic market.

In addition to domestic participants, nearly 1,000 overseas buyers from countries including South Korea, Thailand, India and Malaysia also took part in the fair.

Executives from local plastics companies stressed how much they value the chance to promote products to the world at the fair.
