Blue crabs are a type of shellfish commonly found in Taizhou, a coastal city in East China's Zhejiang province.

Autumn is the best season to eat crabs as it is when they are most the fertile.

In Taizhou, blue crabs can be steamed, boiled or braised to make various delicious meals. They also can be fried with niangao (rice cakes) or used in noodle soups.
