14 projects worth 16.34b start construction in Jiaojiang

Construction began on a total of 14 key projects worth over 16.34 billion yuan ($2.4 illion) in Taizhou's Jiaojiang district on June 12.

The projects are primarily focused on industrial upgrading and infrastructure construction, according to the local authorities.

Among them is the factory invested by the Zhejiang Fang yuan-lixin Vacuum Equipment Co.

With an investment of 1.06 billion yuan, the factory shall have an annual capacity of 10,000 vacuum pumps after it is completed in 2021.

According to Wang Zhicheng, deputy head of the Jiaojiang district government, said, at the launch ceremony that the project's establishment will accelerate the pace of industrial agglomeration, technological innovation and product upgrading, and help build Jiaojiang into a manufacturing hub for vacuum pumps.

Another one is the intelligent toilet project by the Baili Science and Technology Co.

The project at a cost of 110 million yuan will have a capacity of 300 sets of precision molds and 1.5 million of injection accessories 1.5 million sets annually.

As of June, a total of 29 projects in the district has begun construction with total investment valued at 20.79 billion yuan, an increase of 90.7 percent year-on-year.

Taizhou has seen an accelerated pace of investment from January to April. Official data shows that the fixed asset investment in Taizhou expanded by 10.8 percent year-on-year over the period, second fastest in Zhejiang.
