Hehe academies: new front cultural service in Taizhou

Print PrintTaizhou held an experience sharing meeting supporting the construction of the second group of Hehe academies on Feb 27, according to local media. Twenty-one academies attended the meeting, introducing the basic situations of their academies and sharing their experiences.
Taizhou plans to construct the academies in three ways – reconstructing or extending existing characteristics academies, rebuilding an auditorium of high-level cultural halls in Taizhou as Hehe academies, and building a new group of Hehe academies in towns or villages with local heritages and a large population.
All the academies must display the unified design tag of Hehe academies and be equipped with a lecture hall at least 50 square meters and an exhibition hall collecting books and collections on local history and culture, literature and classics, traditional skills, celebrity anecdotes and Hehe culture, and provide a teacher team consisting of local sages, cultural talents and volunteers. The academies should organize regular education and practice events about the Hehe culture heritage, hold Chinese classics readings and promotions, and establish and improve guaranteed and sound management and operations.
