Ten projects worth 10.33 billion yuan ($1.52 billion) are expected to land in Linhai city of Taizhou, according to a conference on Monday.

The projects cover multiple industries including commerce, medicine, chemical fibers, logistics, industry parks and elder-care.

Among them is a commercial complex selling glasses situated in Duqiao town invested by Xinjiang Dongbao Industry Group.

According to Yan Xiancai, president of the company, the project will cost 1.2 billion yuan and give rise to the further growth of the optical sector in Taizhou.

In recent years, the local government has ramped up efforts to lure businessmen who started in Linhai to return and invest in the city.

Mei Shimiao, Party chief of Linhai, lauded them as the "primary driving force of the city's high-quality development" and pledged to create a better business climate and offer them considerable government services.

Statistics show that Linhai's economic output rose 7 percent to 67.09 billion yuan in 2018, ranking the city high nationwide.
