There are 1,234 kindergartens, 352 primary schools, 207 middle schools, 70 high schools and 22 secondary vocational schools in Taizhou, Zhejiang province. The city's special education school has 198 students (excluding students learning in regular classes) and 1,161 students on campus. Full-time regular colleges in the city enrol 10,715 students, have 34,728 students on campus and 32,070 students in adult colleges and universities.

Taizhou has four higher-education institutions, including Taizhou College, Taizhou Broadcast and TV University, Taizhou College of Vocational Technologies and Taizhou College of Vocational Science and Technology. The city has forty three provincally-recognized key middle schools. Ten of them, including Taizhou High School, are provincally-recognized grade-1 key middle schools. Taizhou also has sixteen key vocational and technological schools at the provincial level and above, including eleven provincally-recognized grade-1 key vocational schools.
