Luqiao Hospital is located in Taizhou’s Luqiao district, a famous trade capital of China. It is the only Grade 3 Class B comprehensive hospital in Luqiao district integrating medical treatment, prevention, health care, scientific research and teaching. Its predecessor is the First People’s Hospital of Luqiao district, which has a history of over 60 years.

The hospital covers an area of 75 mu (about five hectares), with a construction area of 52,714 square meters and 465 open beds. By the end of 2016, the hospital had 765 employees, including 238 staff holding junior and senior professional titles. Annually, Luqiao hospital has 731,000 outpatient visits, discharges 14,700 patients and carries out 6,106 surgeries. Three staff members were selected for the “New Century 151 Talent Project” of Zhejiang province, 15 were selected for the “211 Talent Project” of Taizhou, and one was selected for the “Taizhou Famous Medical Doctor Studio”. Three staff were also named as Chinese medicine practitioners in Luqiao district. Luqiao Hospital has also established a teaching relationship with Jiangxi Medical College, Jiujiang Medical College, Harbin Medical University, Anhui Medical University and Zhejiang Pharmaceutical College.

The hospital undertakes the task of counterpart support, medical security, poverty alleviation and other emergency tasks, as well as emergency rescue tasks for various public health incidents and disasters assigned by the municipal and district health administrative departments. It is also the main instruction hospital responsible for training and assessment for primary hospitals and their doctors.

The hospital is equipped with a 16-slice spiral CT, a blood circulation dynamics information detector, laparoscopy and bronchoscopy equipment, a multi-function central monitoring system, an automatic biochemical analyzer and other high-end medical instruments. A treatment program featuring rehabilitation, old-age care, and chronic disease has been gradually developed.
