Initially founded in 1901, Taizhou Enze Medical Center (group) is one of the largest medical centers in Zhejiang province that provides medical care, teaching, research, and preventive medicine to the district. It consists of five well-established hospitals: Taizhou Hospital of Zhejiang Province, Taizhou Central Hospital, Luqiao Branch of Taizhou Hospital, Enze Women and Children’s Hospital, and Enze Hospital.

Taizhou Hospital is an affiliated hospital of Wenzhou Medical College and a teaching hospital for the Medical School of Zhejiang University. In addition, Taizhou Hospital is a model hospital in Zhejiang, a provincial civilized unit, and one of the top ten units of Professional Morality Construction in Zhejiang province. It has also been awarded the National Health Advanced Group by Ministry of Health, Ministry of Personnel, and Ministry of Labor. Taizhou Hospital has established friendships with the Rosalind Franklin University of Chicago Medical School of the United States and the Karolinska Institute of Sweden.
