Mushao Beach is located on the coast of Sanmen Bay next to Mushao Village, to the west of Maotouyang. It is 7 km away from Jiantiao Port and 40 km away from the county. The crescent-shaped beach is 300 meters in length and 146 meters in width, covering a total area of 40,000 sq m.

The beach is sandwiched between the open sea and rolling hills and its golden sand is interspersed with a wide variety of shells. The water is generally clean and dark green in color for about half of the year. The water takes on a golden color when the tide picks up. 

Mushao Beach and Mushao Village cover a total area of 3 sq km. The 200-meter hill behind the beach is covered in plants, mainly pine trees, maples, camphor trees and other deciduous trees. The 30-meter Mushao Hill to the northeast of the beach, named for its shape, is perfect for vacation resorts.
