There are few pests in the vegetables here because of a proper environment of fresh air and clean water, free from pollution of waste gas, waste water and industrial residue. Therefore, pesticides are seldom used in mountain vegetables. Fresh and tasty, rich in carbohydrates and vitamins, the food here is of high quality. The vegetables have gained much more recognition these last years due to publicity. About 5000 tons of vegetables are sold to neighboring cities such as Ningbo, Wenzhou and Taizhou every year.
