Wenling forges friendly relations with German city

A delegation from Wuppertal, Germany, visited Wenling on Nov 27 and 28 with the aim of developing closer ties with the county-level city in Taizhou, Zhejiang province.

The two sides had a symposium on future exchanges and cooperation.

Wang Zongming, mayor of Wenling, extended a warm welcome to the German delegation and introduced the economic and social development of the city.

Wang said Wuppertal's people-oriented development concept and its model of urban construction that shows respect to both nature and industrial manufacturing left a deep impression on him. He hopes the two cities can carry out all-round cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, technological innovation, urban construction, cultural tourism.

The delegates from Wuppertal spoke highly of the achievements Wenling has made in the economy and social development. They pointed out that the two cities share a lot in common and believed there is great potential for more exchanges and cooperation to be tapped into.

At the symposium, Wenling and Wuppertal signed a letter of intent for friendly relations and the First Technical College of Taizhou signed a memorandum of understanding with the Wuppertal Technical College.

Located in North Rhine-Westphalia in western Germany, Wuppertal is a city with an area of 168 square kilometers and a population of more than 360,000. It is a modern manufacturing city with auto parts, metal processing, chemical engineering and pharmaceuticals as its pillar industries.
