Colored Stone Inlay is a traditional art found in Xianju county that involves mahogany or camphorwood that is shaped into patterns and then inlaid with natural pyrophyllite. Colored Stone Inlay can be divided into relief, high relief, carving and grinding, and inlay on flat surface, and is available in many colours. Famous works in the style include Along the River During the Qingming Festival, A Dream of Red Mansions and Romance of the Three Kingdoms. In May 2011, Colored Stone Inlay was included in China’s Fourth Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.
