Yongquan Sweet Orange boasts a beautiful shape, bright color and incredible flavor, just like a poem goes, “Peel with fragrant mist spurting, taste with nectar flowing”.

Yongquan sweet orange has many brands, such as “Yanyutou”, “Yongquan”, “Nanping”, “Shata” and “Liwan”. The “Yanyutou” is the most famous one. The “Yanyutou” sweet orange, renowned in the world for the thin peel, bright color, juicy, tasty, high sugar content and low residue, ranked No. 1 in China and Zhejiang province in 1989 and 1995 respectively.

Thanks to the key orange-planting area in Yongquan Town, Linhai was honored as the “hometown of seedless sweet orange” by the Ministry of Agriculture in 1999. The planting of Yongquan orange dates back to 1,800 years ago and prevailed in the Tang (618-907) and Song (960-1279) dynasties.

The planting areas of orange reach 28,000 mu and 3,900 tons every year, and 80% of the town’s workers are engaged in orange production and trading. The newly-established 505-mu provincial modern agricultural demonstration (orange) park was confirmed to be the “Promotion & Demonstration Base for Introducing Foreign Intellectual Fruits” by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs in October 1999.
