Zhejiang-Taiwan (Yuhuan) Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone lies on the intersection between the Economic Zone on the West Side and the Yangtze River economic zone. It is 60 kilometers away from Wenzhou airport, 42 km away from Taizhou airport and 163 nautical miles from Taiwan’s Keelung Harbor. With ideal wind and waterway conditions, the zone is regarded as the best sea channel linking Zhejiang and east China with Taiwan.
The zone enjoys advantages in the transfer of Taiwan’s industries, such as vehicle components, plumbing-valves, cookers, glasses accessories and furniture. Furthermore, the two areas also share bright prospects for cooperation in emerging industries including numerically controlled machine tools, insecticide-spreading instruments, new energy PV and marine utilization.
The Damaiyu port in the zone is the only county-level open port in Zhejiang, as well as one of the Zhejiang’s areas that feature the largest trading volumes and widest influence in terms of small trades with Taiwan.
